BlackPlate exists to keep Black dollars circulating in our community. To protect owners, diners, and the integrity of the directory, everyone who uses the Service agrees to the rules below.
Don't do these things
- Post reviews you did not personally experience, or coordinate review-bombing of a restaurant.
- Submit fake listings, claim a restaurant you do not own, or impersonate another person or business.
- Scrape, mirror, or republish BlackPlate listings, reviews, photos, or owner data without written permission.
- Use BlackPlate content or data to train AI or machine-learning models.
- Upload content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or that violates someone's privacy or intellectual property.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the security, rate limits, or paywalls of the Service.
- Use automated tools (bots, scripts) against the Service except for a public-facing crawler that respects our robots.txt.
Owners — listing rules
- Listings must represent a real, operating restaurant or food business that is Black-owned.
- Hours, menu, and contact information should be kept current.
- Do not offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews.
Reporting abuse
Report fake listings, fake reviews, harassment, or security issues to trust@blackplate.com. We review every report and act quickly on the ones that violate this policy.
Enforcement
We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, revoke owner verification, and refuse service to anyone who violates this policy. Serious or repeated violations may be reported to law enforcement.
